My husband and I travel often- not any place exotic, but between our parent’s lake cottages, sporadic weekend getaways, and visiting family, I would say we travel more than average. Each time we get ready to embark on another journey, I use a different bag from my Vera Bradly stash telling myself, “This bag will be so convenient…”. I toy with packing each girl in her own bag, in one bag or all of us in my bag to make lugging things in and out more efficient. The bottom line is that it is always going to be a pain in the neck to travel with two toddlers.
BUT I have been on the lookout for a way to pack each girl better… then I thought, backpacks! The problem with most backpacks is that they’re too small to hold anything substantial or too large to fit their little bodies. Then, one day after hours of internet shopping in my bed.. I hit the jackpot….
The Deuter Schmusebar toddler hiking pack is AWESOME. They are pricier than other toddler backpacks out there, but the quality is outstanding- and they come with a worry free replacement policy should something happen due to poor craftsmanship. They also hold more than two diapers and wipes. I packed for 4 days of cool weather in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This means layers, extra outfits, pajamas, socks and even underwear for potty training. The only thing not in the bags are shoes and toiletries. I ordered mine through Amazon.
Here are some pictures of the girls with their new packs. (Z on the left is 18 months and S on the right is 2.5 years old).
